All the little details…

So now one can really prepare you for all the little details that go into graduating and transitioning to the “real life.”  I think I’m handling everything really well, but my “to do list” is so long!  I just keep chipping away at everything.  But really, there is so much to do.  If you don’t stay on top of it, I think you can become overwhelmed like many of my colleagues.  I’d recommend when you get into your last year, to get your bar application done or if you don’t know where you want to take the bar, at least research what information you need and collect it so filling this application out only takes you 30 minutes to an hour.  Some people just complain so much about it!  So learn from the wise and prepare early!  There are plenty of other things like ensuring your signed up for a bar prep course, getting a bar loan, ensuring that you’ve paid for your bar course, and pay for your bar course over several days if paying with a debt card due to daily limits.  This year, when the bar course fees were coming due lots of people had issues with loans being distributed to PO Boxes (since they won’t send your check to a PO box) and for paying with a debt card in one payment since most cards only allow $500 per day.  So you’d have to pay over 5 to 6 days for $500 a day since bar courses can cost $2000-$3000 depending on where you take it.  I would just recommend really thinking, planning and acting sooner rather than later on all these little details.
